New Royal Adelaide Hospital
Lighting Control Installation
South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute Design and Commission the DALIcontrol lighting control system

Nilsen has partnered with Phillips to deliver a state of the art the Lighting Control installation for the new Royal Adelaide Hospital (nRAH) contract. The $1.85 billion facility is the largest single infrastructure project in South Australia’s history, and will be Australia’s most advanced hospital.

The Nilsen Networks and Philips partnership saw the joint project planning of design, best practice processes, training for installation/commissioning, documentation tracking, take-off, material supply, installation/commissioning, high-level interfacing, and inter-trade works and relationships.

The new RAH has an 800 bed capacity with 100% single occupancy rooms and an additional 100 day beds, 40 technical and 8 emergency (operating) suites.

The project included 300+ DB/FDR zones, 15,000+ programmable Dynalite devices, 155+km of Dynet cabling, 60,000+ DALI controlled standard light fittings, 8,000+ DALI controlled exit/emergency light fittings, 170,000m2 floor space for 9 levels and 77,000m2 car parking, in co-ordination with a full BIM design system.
