In the whole of Australia only Nilsen were considered capable of building the propulsion switchgear for the Collins Class submarines.
This is the premier switchboard project in Australia. Nilsen delivered it on time, on budget and to a quality which won it a national excellence award, the only national excellence award ever awarded to a switchboard builder.
